Thengai thuvaiyal:
Ingredients reqd:
Coconut :One cup
Urad dhal:Two table spoonsful
Red chillies:Five
Asafotita :the size of a tamarind seed/one teaspn asafotita powder
Tamarind paste:one table spoon
Salt to taste
Oil :two tablespoonsful
How to make;
Take one table spoon oil in the kadai fry the asafotita piece in the oil. once it puffs up remove it from the kadai.Next fry the urad dhal in the oil till the grains turn deep red.remove them from the kadai,fry the chillies in oil,till they turn colour,reduce the flame fry the grated coconut in the remaining oil till the grated coconut turns slightly brown.Now add the dhal,chillie,salt,asafotita,tamarind paste in the mixi.grind it adding little water when reqd and the chutney get the right consistency.Remove and store in an air tight jar.
